I started developing bunions as a kid. I was teased for having crooked toes & would cry about it.
As an athlete, being in chronic pain stopped me from playing sport, enjoying normal hobbies or being able to go to work with a clear mind. I was frustrated, in depression & carried this weight with me silently.
My severe ankle / foot dysfunction eventually caused excruciating shin splints, knocked knees, pelvic floor problems (sneeze & wee, painful s*x & constipation), back pain and an S curve scoliosis.
My dysfunctional feet made it nearly impossible to buy well fitted shoes and I just felt so out of place.
Like most of you, I pushed through. I was told by specialists all over the world that itâs part & parcel of aging & challenging my body the way I did. I believed them - who wouldnât, they are specialists after all.
But hereâs what I know now as a qualified posture alignment specialist; ALL of the issues I was experiencing were merely symptoms/compensations of unaddressed root causes elsewhere in my body. A holistic body approach helped me make sense of why and where I had the issues/pain first & then taught me how to fix them as opposed to treating the location / symptoms.
Fast forward to today; Iâm now 40 & about to have my first baby. I feel more âat homeâ and so alive inside my body than I ever did all those years ago. Breaking out of those conventional rules & prescribed healing methods got me to where I am today. I play sports almost daily, I workout without soreness or limitations and enjoy a great quality of life doing all the things I love with my family & friends.
Posture therapy & corrective exercise helped me find the missing pieces of my pain puzzle in ways that modern medicine / pain management couldnât and thatâs exactly what I would love to help you do too.
